Want to learn more about the proposed splash park in LaGrange?  We recently spoke with LaGrange Council Member, William Lammlein, to have some of our questions answered.  William Lammlein is currently heading the planning and organizing of the splash park.

photo wilborn park splash park_zpskdww4q08.jpgWhere will the splash park be located? The splash park will be located at Wilborn Park close to the already existing playground and restroom facility.  Wilborn Park is located at 201 Lakeshore Drive in LaGrange.

What will the splash park include? The new splash park will be a circle approximately 48′ across with 16 different fountains.  About half of the fountains will be above ground with such things as sprinkling flowers and dumping buckets.  The other half will be in ground sprinkler systems.

Who can use the splash park?  The park will be open to the community and will be suited for children ages 15 and younger.  It will also be handicap accessible.

How much will the splash park cost?  The splash park, expansion of parking, fencing and other amenities is estimated to cost around $260,000.  So far, $70,000 has been donated by local foundations.

How can the community help? William Lammlein suggested contacting your council member to show support for the development of the splash park.  The more the city knows that the community would enjoy the park, the better.  Also, donations can be sent to The LaGrange Foundation 307 West Jefferson Street LaGrange, KY 40031
