All About Kids Sports Center has an awesome summer camp going on right now! Children ages 4 and up can experience Camp-A-Bunga at the Blankenbaker and Crestwood locations. My two children (ages 4 and 8) recently spent a day at the Crestwood camp and before I could ask how it went, they were telling me how much fun they had!
I love that there is structure with the camp and that each week has a different theme that kids love. The campers start with open play in the inflatable zone and then move to an instructional lesson. These lessons are taught by a coach and include specialized activities such as: martial arts, soccer, gymnastics, tumbling, swimming (ages 6+ only), basketball and more. This is the only day camp in the area that includes all of these sport activities!
The camp fee includes lunch for campers also! Campers can enjoy the lunch provided for them or pack their own if they choose. It's nice that the lunch schedule changes since some campers come consecutive days. The café is also open for campers to buy snacks. Parents can send in money with their children or request that their accounts be charged for café purchases.
There is another instructional lesson after lunch and then swimming. Swimming is open to children 6 and over only. While the older campers swim, the younger campers have open gym. During open gym, campers get to explore the different gymnastic and tumbling equipment. Campers get to play on various trampolines, balance beams, foam pits, rope swings and many other fun activities! The camp counselors stay on the floor with the campers, playing alongside and assisting them. The swimmers can split their time between the pool and the open gym also.
As the day is winding down, the campers relax with a light snack and beverage. I could tell my kids were tired by the time I picked them up around 4:45pm! When the weather is nice, campers will sometimes play outside together also. Some of the outdoor activities include water inflatables, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and other active games.
Registration is super easy and can even be done the day before or day of ($5 extra) if you need a last minute camp for your kids. An email is sent to parents detailing the activities, lunch and procedure for drop-off and pick-up. During my childrens' camp, all of the campers stayed together except during swimming. I liked that siblings can stay together if needed.
Camp runs 9am-5pm. The fees are: $55/1 day, $110/2 days, $160/3 days, $205/4 days, $255/5 days. A 20% discount is given for each additional sibling that is registered also. There is an early drop-off and late pick-up option for an additional fee. There are also specialty camps including Dance, Martial Arts and Trampoline and Tumbling.
There's still time to check out All About Kids Camp-A-Bunga Summer Camp! There isn't one dull moment during the camp and the kids are MOVING, playing and learning together!
