Fall Break Fun (at Home)!

Are you planning to stay home over Fall Break? If so, we have some fun ideas for you that hopefully won’t break the bank!

Oldham County students are off of school on October 19 & 20 and October 23-27, 2023 for Fall Break. Here are a few ideas for you to fill your time over the break.

We count 25 Halloween events happening around Oldham County over Fall Break!!

From Trunk or Treats, outdoor movies, fun Halloween displays, ceramic pumpkin painting, swimming with pumpkins and more, there’s no shortage of Halloween Fun! Halloween Events in Oldham County HERE and Halloween Events in Louisville HERE.

Don’t miss the next Skate Night at the LaGrange Community Center on October 20th! It is free to skate, just bring your own skates.

Visit Little Big Gem Mine & Rock Shop in LaGrange! They have new Fall hours. So be sure to follow them on Facebook.

Find your perfect pumpkin and have fun on a farm just outside of Oldham County! We love Jericho Farmhouse in Smithfield. You can enjoy their pumpkin patch, Hay Bale Trail and ice cream! They are also showing “Hocus Pocus” over Fall Break!

Get outside! Hopefully Fall Break gives us a break from the heat and allows us to enjoy one or two of the great hiking trails in our county! Our personal favorite is Harrods Creek Park.

No school means later bedtimes! Catch a drive-in movie over Fall Break!  Sauerbeck Family Drive-in is showing new movies as well as some oldies, but goodies.  The movies on Retro-Wednesday over Fall Break are “Scooby Doo” and “ET.”

Maybe you need a break from all the kid fun or a place for the kids to play while you work or play yourself?  Check out these Fall Break camps here. AR Workshop in Norton Commons has a few fun one day “camps” over Oldham County’s Fall Break.

We love visiting Downtown LaGrange.  You can visit the Railroad Museum, shop at the many stores, grab a bite to eat, visit Springs Park and much more! There are a couple of opportunities for littles to enjoy free events at The LaGrange Railroad Museum and Gallery 104. Reading by the Rails and Art Starts are great events for families with littles to enjoy some time together over Fall Break.

A unique way to enjoy the LaGrange Quarry over Fall Break is to take the family fishing!

Here are a few more ideas for Fall Fun around the area!

This is always a helpful list to find farm fun.  Some of these aren’t in Oldham County, but worth the drive!
