Please note that Morgan’s Run is not opening for the 2017 season.

Located a short drive from Oldham County, Morgan’s Run is a wonderful family farm offering Fall fun.  In its third season, the farm is growing and improving with new attractions and updates.

We love that the pumpkin patch is only ten minutes from Downtown LaGrange.  It is a smaller farm (compared to some of the other ones we normally visit), which means less crowds, but still enough to do with your family.  New this year, is a cute duck racing game located near the entrance to the farm.  Kids can race ducks down plastic gutters by pumping water through well pumps.  There are two tubs for bubble blowing, too.  Such a great and easy idea!  The open fields and wind were perfect to watch the bubbles float around the farm.

photo IMG_7559_zpswjokbix0.jpgFamilies can take a short hayride to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect jack-o-lantern.  There are also already picked pumpkins around the farm that you can choose too.  The hayride takes visitors back to the parking lot to drop off their pumpkins at their vehicles.

Another hayride will take you to the corn maze.  Expect to spend at least 30 minutes navigating through the corn maze.  There are questions to answer along the way to point you in the right direction.  We got a kick out of learning interesting facts about different animals.  (Google does work in the field in case you get stumped.)  The hayride was waiting for us when we finally made our way out of the corn maze.

photo IMG_7700_zpsa8kpwnjr.jpgOnce we were done with the corn maze, we were free to explore and play around the rest of the farm.  My husband and I took a break under the shaded pavilion while the kids enjoyed more of the duck game and bubbles.  Corn hole games were set up to play and the concession stand was open.  Concessions offered include hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, chips, popcorn and drinks.  When the weather starts to get cooler, the farm will serve chili, BBQ and other warm soups and foods.  There is a fire pit that will also open for nighttime visits where you can make s’mores.  The corn maze will be open for flashlight walks with glow sticks.

There is a fun playground area and small hay maze on the farm also.  The kids love to go down the big slide and race each other in the hamster wheels.  If you are adventurous, there is a 900 foot zip line that goes across one of the farm’s lakes.

Admission to the farm includes all of the attractions (except for the zip line) and a pumpkin for each person. Bring cash for admission and the concession stand.  Admission is $7 for ages 5-12, $9 for over 12 and free for 4 and under.  The zip line is $10 for the first ride and $7 for the second ride (same rider).

Take the short drive up Hwy 146 to Dawkins Lane in Henry County.  Morgan’s Run Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze is a great family farm to visit during the Fall season.  The farm is open on the weekends to the public and during the week for school groups.
