Oli Pollo Restaurant in LaGrange

We always get excited when new restaurants open up in our community! Recently we checked out Oli Pollo in LaGrange.

 photo Oli Pollo 1_zpsoe17ebnd.png

Oli Pollo is located in LaGrange near Walmart and Baptist East at 1024 New Moody Lane.  If you know where the old Sonic was located, you'll find Oli Pollo.  The owners have transformed the old Sonic building into a Peruvian Rotisserie chicken restaurant.  We were curious what Oli Pollo offered and what Peruvian rotisserie chicken tasted like, so we checked it out for lunch.

photo menu_zpsptghnci1.jpgOnce you are inside, it's hard to miss the spinning chickens in the kitchen.  The whole chickens are marinated in special Peruvian spices overnight and roast for several hours.  Choosing what to eat was tricky because everything sounded amazing on the menu.  With a little guidance, we ended up choosing the Philly Cheesesteak and Chicken Gyro.  We added a side of Yuca Steak Fries and Sweet Potato Fries as well.  The owner told us that the cheesesteaks were added because they have east coast roots.  All of the food was delicious.  The cheesesteak roll was fresh and using the rotisserie chicken in the sandwich was a great twist.

If you want to stick to just chicken, there are several combos you can create to include your choice of dark, white or a mix of meat and sides.  You can also purchase an entire rotisserie chicken for around $13.  We hear their cilantro sauce should definitely be added to your order!

photo gyro_zpsxrmqjbyb.jpgIf you prefer something other than chicken, don't worry there are several other options.  The burgers are made from fresh ground beef patties.  There is a BLT that seemed to be a popular choice among patrons and Lomo Saltado made from sautéed beef strips.  Oli Pollo even has a vegan option.  The next time we are at Oli Pollo we plan to try the Arroz Chaufa, a sautéed Peruvian rice dish big enough for two people to share.

Oli Pollo is open seven days a week and offers dine-in and a drive-thru.  Follow their Facebook page because they post daily deals.  We hope you will support this new restaurant in Oldham County and see what Peruvian Rotisserie chicken is all about for yourself!
